Coal companies propose to bring over 150 million tons of coal annually through the Columbia River Gorge to ports in St. Helens, Boardman, Coos Bay, Bellingham, and Longview. Portland could see coal trains along our rail lines and coal barges in the Columbia River. Columbia Riverkeeper offers information about how proposed dirty coal export projects would dramatically affect our community’s health, climate, and economy, and how you can help prevent it from happening. 7-8:30pm, at Rose City Park United Methodist Church 5830 NE Alameda St. Portland 97213.
