Hello Woodlawn Community!
November is here – already! Below are the scheduled Woodlawn PTA events for November. If you haven’t signed up to help with a school event yet, please do! Your participation and presence at our school will make a difference and we need everyone involved to make progress.
11/8 – The Woodlawn School Culture of Kindness and Woodlawn PTA will be presenting an evening of sharing and learning about relational aggression and bullying between girls. Special showing of the movie ‘Finding Kind’ will open this important discussion. Thursday, November 8. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Cost: Free (Donations accepted). We need volunteers for this event. Contact me to volunteer. Finding Kind trailer can be viewed here: http://findingkind.indieflix.com/home/
11/13 – Enrollment Balancing Conversation at Jefferson High School. 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 5210 N. Kerby Street. This is an important discussion that includes several possibilities for Woodlawn’s future. We need a good showing of Woodlawn Parents, Staff and Community. Please come and wear school colors blue and/or yellow.
11/16 – PTA Coffee with the Principal at 8:55 in the auditorium. Come meet other parents and visit with Principal Robin Morrison.
11/19 – 11/21 – School Conferences – If you haven’t signed up to attend a conference with your child’s teacher, you should! Starting that week, there will be a box (PTA Uniform Exchange) in front of the office for you to drop off your ‘gently-used and clean’ school uniform items in exchange for a voucher. Each voucher is worth one item of clothing. PTA will be collecting uniform items until Thursday, December 13th. On Thursday, December 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 we will have another uniform exchange at the school. More details to come.
Please let me know if you have any questions! Good Wildcats!
