The United Way staff is excited to begin recruiting volunteers to participate on review teams for our 2013-2014 grant cycle! For anyone who is new to this review process, UWCW engages teams of community volunteers to read and score grant proposals to help determine our grant investments. This is an exciting way to learn more about the needs in our communities as well as the investments United Way makes to help address these issues.
Who can participate: We strive to engage review teams that reflect the diversity of our community, our partners and our stakeholders. Similar to last year, we would like to invite community members to consider participation on a review team who may be interested. People who participated in last year’s review process commented on how valuable the experience was in terms of sharpening their understanding of what projects we fund and how we create positive change.
The commitment: Participation on a review team would entail approximately 20 hours of time during a two and a half month period including:
· One orientation session
· 4-6 review meetings between April 1st-May 24
· Reviewing and scoring up to 10 proposals
How to participate: If you are interested in taking part in this opportunity, please submit the following information via email to Jessica Knight:
1. First & Last Name
3. Impact Area of interest for reviewing: Education, Financial Stability or Health & Wellbeing
Thank you for considering this project.
