January has been an emotional time for this community as we have celebrated the work of Dr. Martin Luther King and our own multicultural community, and also faced the possible PPS closure and reconfiguration of our school. The PTA has been honored to walk along side you, listen to you, and we hope we have represented this wonderful community well through this process. It was wonderful to get the latest proposal from Superintendent Carole Smith and see that she proposed that Woodlawn stay open! (Letter can be read here: http://www.pps.k12.or.us/news/8327.htm) The PPS Board will vote on the Superintendent’s Proposal on Monday, February 25th! Location: Blanchard Education Service Center, 501 N. Dixon Street, at 6:00 p.m.
We still have work to do as we work together to build our community and programs in order to make sure our terrific students receive all they need to succeed. Thanks for all of your support and hard work staff, parents, neighbors, and students!
