All interested in the Woodlawn neighborhood are invited to attend the general meeting on Wednesday, 10/19, at the Woodlawn Community Resource Center in Woodlawn Methodist Church at 1425 N.E. Dekum St. Enter the west door and head up the stairs and down the hallway.

A highlight of this month’s meeting: Laura Niemi, a new city staff member, will be at the meeting and will give us an update and answer questions about the city’s community gardens.

There will be a Woodlawn Neighborhood Association Board Meeting on Wednesday, October 5th from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The meeting is open to all neighborhood residents and people who work or own businesses in Woodlawn.

The agenda for board meetings typically focuses on planning, budgeting, and community projects. View this month’s agenda here.

Bring a food donation for the NE Portland Backpack Lunch Program–there’s a donation bin in the meeting room. Food to donate: cans of soup, chili, mac and cheese boxes, individual juice boxes, fruit cups, and healthy snacks (granola bars, etc.). More on this worthwhile program soon.

Meetings are held at the Woodlawn Community Resource Center in Woodlawn Methodist Church, 1425 N.E. Dekum Street. Enter the west door and head up the stairs and down the hallway.

Concerned about safety and liveability issues? Over the summer, SALT, an NECN Community Committee focused on violence in our Neighborhoods and what could be done on a neighborhood level to address it (see link). The next SALT meeting is Monday, September 19th, 6:30pm, at NECN. All are invited to attend.
