There are lots of opportunities to get out, help out, exercise, meet new people—and be part of keeping Portland Parks in great shape for all to enjoy. More information here.
A few examples—
- Westmoreland Park, Nature Playground – We do our best to keep it weed free and full of healthy native plants. Your team of 10 to 25 adults can be a big help. Available Monday – Friday.
- Native Gathering Garden at Cully Park – This unique garden is a catalyst for strengthening our relationship with plants and healing places. We do a lot of work to care for the garden and are looking for help to enrich the soil with mulch. This is a large team effort, suitable for 20 to 50 volunteers. Potential volunteer times are during the mornings of Friday, August 9 and Saturdays on August 3rd or 10th.
- Ladd’s Circle and Rose Gardens – Our oldest rose garden grows 3,000 roses of 60 varieties that were popular in the early 20th Century. We’ll teach your team the proper techniques for “deadheading” roses and then put you to work. Ideal size is 10 to 25 volunteers. We’ll work in the cool of the morning, Monday through Friday.
