We’re excited to continue implementing the Forward Together Service Concept focused on growing ridership and improving connections for people with low and limited incomes.

We’re proposing changes to service for 2024–25, including:

  • The addition of 3 new Frequent Service lines with buses arriving every 15 minutes for most of the day, every day.
  • Improving service on 5 lines with buses coming more often, for more of the day, every day.
  • And more!

Learn more and give your feedback online or attend one of our open houses in January and February.

North/Northeast Portland

New route, more frequency and route changes

We propose to move Line 17 to 33rd Avenue, with buses arriving every 15 minutes during the morning and evening commute and every 30 minutes at other times. 24th Ave and 27th Ave service would discontinue due to low ridership.

Line 8 would move to Saratoga Street to serve Home Forward affordable housing and the University of Oregon’s Northeast Portland campus, and Line 70 would end at the Rose Quarter Transit Center.

Line 24 would merge with Line 21 via Sandy Boulevard to improve connections between inner Portland, Parkrose Transit Center and Gresham. Service on Kerby Ave and Russell St would discontinue for faster trips between North, Northeast and Northwest Portland.

Line 40 would replace Line 85, providing service between Swan Island, Downtown Portland and the SE Tacoma St/Johnson Creek MAX Orange Line Station.

Line 77 would become Frequent Service, with buses arriving every 15 minutes or better, for most of the day, every day. And buses would move to NE MLK/Grand to serve more of the Broadway-Weidler corridor.
