Alberta Park now has the first nature patch in the city of Portland. Completed in 2018 as the first pilot for the Ecologically Sustainable Landscapes Initiative, an acre of struggling grass under a stand of Douglas fir was converted into a lush forest garden. The Alberta Park Nature Patch features a unique variety of native and ornamental plants, nurse logs, root wads, boulders, and an accessible gravel path. These enhancements

5th Annual Graffiti Abatement Summit

Portland’s 5th Annual Graffiti Abatement Summit is being held on Thursday May 23, 2013 from 6:30-8:30pm at Montgomery Park (2701 NW Vaughn St). This summit is a training attended by graffiti abatement officials, the DA, police officers, and community members interested in the topic of graffiti abatement and removal. The summit is free and open to the public. We encourage everyone who feels comfortable to RSVP and attend this meeting.

Classic Foods Plans Expansion in Woodlawn

Classic Foods is a supplier of specialty foods to hundreds of area restaurants. Jake Greenberg, the owner, chose to recycle an old building in the Woodlawn Triangle of Northeast Portland to be their new location. After nine months of renovation, Classic Foods moved in January from its home near Northeast 19th Avenue and Oregon Street and settled into its new digs at 817 N.E. Madrona St.
