Woodlawn Jazz Night 2024 a Huge Success!

Ephemeral Wisdom on the NE Holman Neighborhood Greenway

Take a Virtual Tour of Woodlawn Park and Its Trees

In June 2019, thirty-two volunteers helped map, measure, and identify the trees of Woodlawn Park. In total, 299 trees from 48 different species were recorded at the park. Then the Urban Forestry folks at Portland Parks and Recreation created an amazing virtual tour of the trees that are in Woodlawn Park including a tree inventory, maps, and superb photographs of each genus and species they catalogued—evergreen and deciduous trees. Woodlawn Sidewalk Memorial

  The photograph (on the left) of this small memorial to George Floyd was taken in the Woodlawn neighborhood in September 2020, after the pandemic/protest summer. The photograph at the top of this post was taken in November 2023. How nature abhors a vacuum and fills in with its greenery even as autumn leaves fall and gather around as well.
